Major Concrete Infrastructure Underway at Tesla's Semi Production Facility

Tesla is making significant strides in the construction of its dedicated Semi plant located at Gigafactory Nevada. Recent updates have revealed ambitious plans for extensive concrete work at the site, indicating substantial progress in the facility's development.

Recently posted by Zanegler, a noted observer and advocate for the Tesla Semi, video footage showcases considerable activity at the location. The visuals highlight the installation of truss rods on vertical steel beams and various footings prepared with impressive dimensions. Dubbed a “concrete jungle,” Zanegler explains that each of the more substantial footings will require about 55 cubic yards of concrete, collectively amounting to approximately 20,000 cubic yards for the project. It’s also projected that the final total will reach around one million cubic yards of concrete once construction is completed.

Tesla began breaking ground on the Giga Nevada expansion for the Semi in January, with hopes to start production in the latter half of 2025. Initial deliveries for the Semi are projected for early 2026. Despite the timeline, Tesla has already started delivering early models to prominent clients like PepsiCo, Costco, Martin Brower, and Walmart. Additionally, the production of the Semi at the existing facility has been ramping up, with at least 50 units recently confirmed on-site.

With future plans also hinting at expansions into the European market, Tesla continues to build momentum for its innovative Semi program.
