Despite the catastrophic exterior damage, the driver’s cabin exhibited an impressive level of integrity post-accident. The A-pillar remained undistorted, and the vehicle's battery was notably intact without any fire hazard arising from the impact. This showcases the Cybertruck’s advanced safety engineering, particularly its semi-load-bearing body structure designed to absorb impact energy effectively. Tesla has implemented innovative die-casting techniques in the vehicle's manufacturing, enhancing rigidity and torsional strength while optimizing energy absorption during collisions.
Earlier this year in February, the Cybertruck received its first crash safety rating, achieving nearly perfect scores across all categories, including a five-star rating for the driver’s position. During a controlled front collision test, the Cybertruck successfully crashed into a rigid barrier at a speed of 35 mph. The overall five-star rating included a five-star score for driver side safety and a four-star rating for passenger protection.
