The Tesla Cybertruck, known for its unconventional design, has been omitted from Tesla's lineup in the U.K. almost a year after its U.S. launch. Currently, the electric pickup is only available in Canada and Mexico, with no release in European markets, including the U.K. This absence has sparked conversations, especially following the impounding of an illegally driven Cybertruck by Bury police in Greater Manchester.
Authorities revealed that the vehicle lacked what is known as a "certificate of conformity," thereby rendering it not road-legal in the U.K. Their Facebook announcement indicated legitimate concerns regarding the safety of the Cybertruck for pedestrians and other road users in case of an accident. A prevalent belief is that the Cybertruck can't meet the U.K.'s strict pedestrian safety standards, which has gained traction in the U.S. discourse as well.
