Tesla Increases Model X Prices in the U.S. by $5,000 Amid Cost Management Efforts

On February 6, 2025, Tesla Inc. announced a price increase for its Model X vehicles in the United States. The all-wheel drive variant will now retail for $84,990, up from its previous price of $79,990. Meanwhile, the high-performance plaid variant sees a similar boost, rising from $94,990 to $99,990. The updated prices reflect a $5,000 increase across both models and are effective immediately, as noted on Tesla’s website.

This price hike follows a December adjustment in which Tesla raised the cost of its Model S vehicles by the same amount. In addition, the company had implemented price increases for all of its models in Canada starting February 1. Despite this upward adjustment in pricing, Tesla has not disclosed any specific reasons for the latest changes.

Interestingly, Tesla is reportedly working on reducing car production costs. In January, the company highlighted that the average cost of materials and labor had reached its lowest levels in the fourth quarter of 2024, due to a decline in raw material prices.
