The Launch Edition, which offers significant upgrades over the standard Model Y, was also recently introduced in China, transitioning from the Launch Edition to a regular version with similar pricing. Notably, the U.S. Launch Edition includes enhancements like special badges on various components, Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD), vegan suede interior upgrades, and premium floor mats.
In tandem with the launch, Tesla has ramped up production of the upgraded Model Y at its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. Recent drone footage has revealed extensive fleets of the Model Y ready for distribution, signaling a promising start to the year for Tesla's SUV lineup.
