Tesla has announced a $1,000 discount for U.S. military personnel purchasing the Cybertruck, expanding its existing Military Purchase Program. This offer, visible on Tesla's website since last week, allows active duty members, veterans, retirees, and their spouses to benefit from this price reduction on any of Tesla's electric vehicle models, including the newly added Cybertruck.
Previously, the Military Purchase Program only provided discounts for the Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y. The addition of the Cybertruck means that military members can now take advantage of this offer across Tesla's entire lineup of electric vehicles. Tesla states, “Receive $1,000 off any new Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck,” highlighting their commitment to honoring those who have served. The discount is applied directly upon ordering the vehicle and is available indefinitely.
The current promotion applies specifically to the Foundation Series Cybertrucks, which are the initial launch editions set to be delivered until approximately late November. In addition, existing Cybertruck owners have started receiving $2,500 vouchers for purchasing Powershare Home Backup equipment, further demonstrating Tesla's commitment to its customers.
Recently, Tesla has simplified the ordering process, allowing buyers to purchase the Cybertruck directly from the website without needing to reserve a spot with a fee. The automaker has also commenced test drives for the Cybertruck and expanded ordering options to customers in Canada and Mexico.
With production ramping up since deliveries began last November, Tesla anticipates achieving profitability on the Cybertruck by early next year, as confirmed during its recent Q2 2024 earnings call.
