Tesla’s latest software update is introducing exciting personalization tools, further enhancing the user experience. Following the success of the Colorizer tool, which allows users to change their car’s color on the display, the new update brings custom wrap and license plate visualizations, both reflected on the vehicle's screen and within the Tesla app.
Custom Wrap Visualizations
Initially exclusive to the Cybertruck, custom wrap visualizations let users apply unique designs to their vehicle's digital display. Tesla provides a variety of in-house options, such as the popular "unhinged" Doge wrap and graffiti-inspired styles from Baja off-road testing. In total, 27 pre-designed wraps will be available.
For those who prefer a personal touch, creating a custom wrap is straightforward. Tesla supplies a downloadable template and instructions for crafting designs with basic image editing software. Once saved and transferred to a USB drive, these designs can be applied through the vehicle’s Toybox > Paint Shop menu.
Custom License Plates
Alongside wrap customization, users can now design personalized digital license plates. This feature allows customization of plate text and background images. Options include solid colors, Tesla-provided stock images, or user-uploaded designs. It’s an ideal way to align the digital visualization with real-world plates or experiment with creative ideas.
Rollout to Other Models
While these features debut with the Cybertruck, Tesla has confirmed plans to extend them to other models, including the Model 3, Model Y, and the refreshed Model S and X. A timeline has yet to be specified, but availability is anticipated by early 2025.
In the meantime, Cybertruck owners are encouraged to share their unique wrap designs on social media and Tesla-focused forums, fostering a sense of community creativity while showcasing the new possibilities this update offers.
Tesla’s focus on customization underscores its commitment to making vehicles as distinctive as their owners, further cementing the brand’s reputation for innovation and user-centered design.
