Tesla Achieves 60,000th Supercharger Milestone in Japan with Special Celebration

Tesla Japan has proudly marked a significant achievement by launching its 60,000th Supercharger in the country. This milestone was celebrated by Tesla executives, who shared their excitement on the social media platform X.

The 60,000th Supercharger, which also includes Japan’s first V4 charging stalls, is situated in Enshu Morimachi, within Shizuoka Prefecture. Notably, this same location previously hosted Tesla Japan’s 600th Supercharger, making it a point of pride for the company.

To honor this landmark occasion, Tesla introduced unique V4 Supercharger stalls at the site. While the 600th Supercharger featured a distinctive faceplate adorned with origami designs, the 60,000th Supercharger boasts a sleek silver faceplate, making both installations among the most visually striking across Tesla's global network.

Max de Zegher, Tesla's Director of Charging, commended the achievement by sharing a photo of the Tesla Japan Supercharger team in front of the two commemorative stalls. He emphasized the strategic location of these Superchargers, which provides the fastest route between Nagoya and Tokyo, accessible from both sides of the highway. “The Japan team is awesome!” De Zegher remarked in his X post.

The expansion of Tesla’s Supercharger Network has accelerated significantly in Japan over recent years. According to statistics shared by the company, most of this growth has occurred within the last four years. If this trend continues, Japan is on track to become densely populated with Tesla Superchargers.

De Zegher noted that each Supercharger installation involves collaboration among multiple teams and entities, making each opening feel like a small miracle. “The new routes they create bring happiness to traveling families, making it all worthwhile!” he concluded.
