Tesla is set to unveil a monumental new Supercharger station in Central California, featuring 168 stalls, far surpassing the 98-stall capacity of the nearby Harris Ranch location. Positioned off I-5 at W. Jayne Avenue, this new station will become one of the largest in the region, alongside the nearby Lost Hills Supercharger, which has 164 stalls.
The station’s design highlights a focus on convenience and functionality, with an emphasis on pull-through stalls. These spots are especially beneficial for drivers towing trailers or hauling cargo, preventing the need to take up multiple parking spaces. Tesla’s implementation of pull-through stalls at other locations has proven to be a practical solution for maximizing efficiency.
Additionally, some stalls are planned to be equipped with solar half canopies, reflecting Tesla’s ongoing efforts to incorporate renewable energy into its charging infrastructure. While Elon Musk once envisioned all Superchargers running on solar power, full implementation has yet to be realized, though this latest development hints at continued progress toward that goal.
This massive expansion will not only serve Tesla owners but also benefit drivers of all electric vehicles, as Tesla continues to open its Supercharger network to other EV brands. Recently, Volvo and Polestar joined the list of automakers now able to access Tesla’s global network, which is widely regarded as the largest and most reliable EV charging network in the world.
