Tesla Semi Production Gains Momentum: New Drone Footage Reveals Growing Fleet

Tesla Semi production is hitting a significant milestone, as recent drone footage from Gigafactory Nevada reveals a burgeoning fleet of at least 50 units outside the factory. Approximately half of these trucks are freshly assembled, indicating a notable ramp-up in production.

The Tesla Semi represents a major innovation for the automaker. After years of development, the truck began its journey to initial customer PepsiCo nearly two years ago. While other companies have also received Tesla Semis, the rollout has remained relatively low-key, resembling a pilot phase.

Tesla is poised to expand production further, with plans for a dedicated Semi production facility near Gigafactory Nevada already underway. Construction on this new plant is progressing, with the foundation beginning to take shape.

Despite these plans, Tesla continues to produce Semis within its current facilities. Drone operator Zanegler, who tracks the Semi program's progress, recently captured footage showing 26 new Tesla Semis outside the factory. In addition, 15 and 11 units were spotted on different sides of the facility. These vehicles are primarily designated for PepsiCo, which is still awaiting its full order of 100 units. Additionally, some trucks are being used for demonstrations to potential new customers and for transporting batteries, Powerwalls, and other equipment.

This ramp-up in production underscores Tesla’s commitment to scaling its Semi program and meeting growing demand from various sectors.
